John Carty
Master of the banjo, fiddle, and flute John Carty is a prolific artist and one of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians. He released his first banjo album in 1994. In 1997 he formed At the Racket, named for one of the Flanagan Brothers’ 78 rpms. In 2012 he established The John Carty Festival Band. In addition he has collaborated with numerous other artists, and even appeared in two feature films. In 2003 he was named TG4’s Traditional Musician of the Year.
